About this molecule
Axitinib is an oral tyrosine kinase inhibitor selective for vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) receptors -1, -2 and -3 that is used in the therapy of advanced renal cell carcinoma. Axitinib therapy by itself is commonly associated with transient elevations in serum aminotransferase levels that are generally mild and asymptomatic and has been linked to rare instances of clinically apparent liver injury. When combined with an immune checkpoint inhibitor, as is now common, liver test abnormalities are considerably more frequent and more severe.
